We're building a gig work rental in Brooklyn for drivers on DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Instacart, and Amazon Flex, with weekly and monthly terms instead of a daily rate. Reserve your spot below to help us gauge demand.
Most drivers who look into gig work don't want to buy a car to find out if it pays off. A loan, a year-long insurance policy, and depreciation are a lot to take on before you know how many hours you'll actually put in. Renting flips that: you drive, you earn, and you're not stuck with a car payment if delivery work isn't for you. Before we build a dedicated plan around this, we want real numbers from Brooklyn and NYC drivers who'd actually use it, which is what this waitlist is for.
This plan is aimed at delivery and courier platforms, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Instacart, and Amazon Flex, where a standard rental car with personal auto insurance is all you need to get moving. No commercial plate, no TLC paperwork.
Turo's own terms block using its rentals for gig or delivery work anywhere in New York State, so it's not actually an option here even though it shows up in search results. The Executive Rental is a direct car rental company, not a peer-to-peer marketplace, so that restriction doesn't apply to what we're building.
Same baseline as any Executive Rental booking: 21 or older, a valid U.S. license, and full coverage insurance (liability, collision, and comprehensive) confirmed before pickup, plus a refundable deposit to hold the reservation. Nothing about that changes for gig use.
This plan would run out of Brooklyn, covering drivers across the borough and the wider NYC area, with pickup at our Georgetown, Brooklyn meeting spot. See our Brooklyn neighborhood coverage for where our standard rentals already reach.
Gig-specific pricing hasn't been set yet, that's part of what this waitlist helps determine. Our standard rental today starts at $165 with a 3-day minimum, gig terms would run weekly to monthly instead, and rates will be shaped by demand from this list.
Yes. Gig work rentals would run on weekly and monthly terms instead of our standard 3-day minimum, built for drivers who need the car for an ongoing stretch of gig shifts rather than a single trip.
Not through this plan. New York City requires a TLC-licensed for-hire vehicle to carry rideshare passengers, and this plan is not TLC-plated. It's built for delivery-based gig work instead.
DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Instacart, Amazon Flex, and similar delivery platforms that require a personal vehicle and standard auto insurance rather than a commercial TLC plate.
No. Turo's terms prohibit using its rentals for gig or delivery work in New York State. The Executive Rental is a direct car rental company, not a peer-to-peer marketplace, so this restriction does not apply here.
Not yet. We're testing demand first. Joining the waitlist doesn't commit you to anything, it puts you first in line for pricing and availability if the plan launches.
Brooklyn and the wider NYC area. Pickup would run through our existing meeting spot in Georgetown, Brooklyn, the same process used for our standard rentals.
The same baseline as any Executive Rental booking: 21 or older, a valid U.S. license, and full coverage insurance (liability, collision, and comprehensive) confirmed before pickup, plus a refundable deposit to secure the reservation.
Tell us you're interested and we'll reach out as soon as gig rental plans and pricing are ready.
No spam, no commitment. We'll only reach out about gig rental availability and pricing.
