Minimum age requirements are strictly enforced and ensure proper insurance protection. All renters who allow an underage driver will be fined $2,500 and their rental will be immediately canceled.
All renters must have a valid driver’s license within the united states, be 18+ yrs of age, and have full coverage insurance.

The 2021 Hyundai Venue is our rental car. It is a subcompact SUV, not a sedan and not a full-size crossover, and that size is the whole reason it works here. At 159.1 inches long it is closer to a compact sedan’s footprint than a typical SUV, so parallel parking on a narrow Brooklyn side street is manageable in a way it isn’t in something like a Camry or an Equinox.
Rentals start at $165 for three days, which is our minimum. The daily rate is $55, with $385 a week and $1,300 a month if you need it longer. Pickup is at our meeting spot in Georgetown, Brooklyn, arranged when you book, or we can deliver within 10 miles for a flat $75.
Most rental fleets stock whatever is cheapest to buy in bulk, which usually means a sedan or a large crossover that is awkward to park and thirsty in city traffic. The Venue lands in a more useful spot.
Size. 159.1 inches long, 69.7 wide, 61.6 tall. It fits into street spots that larger vehicles have to drive past, which matters more in Brooklyn than almost any spec on the sheet.
Fuel use. City driving burns fuel faster than any other kind. At an EPA-rated 30 MPG city and 33 highway you are stopping less often, whether you are crossing boroughs daily or heading out to Long Island for the weekend.
Visibility. The seating position sits higher than a sedan. Around Brooklyn and Manhattan traffic that means seeing pedestrians, cyclists, and double-parked delivery trucks earlier, without putting you in a large vehicle you do not need.
Inside there is an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a backup camera, forward collision warning, and lane-keeping assist. Seats five, 18.7 cubic feet of cargo behind the rear seats.
Day-to-day driving around Brooklyn and NYC. Yes. Right size, easy to park, efficient in stop-and-go. This is what it is for.
A beach run to Rockaway or Long Beach. Yes. The hatch takes chairs, a cooler, and bags without a fight, and you are on the Belt Parkway in under 20 minutes from most of Brooklyn. More on Brooklyn beach driving and parking.

A week or a month. The weekly rate works out to the same $55 a day, so there is no weekly discount built in. If your timeline runs past a week, the monthly rental rate at $1,300 is usually the better call.

Yes. New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania trips are all fine. The only limit is mileage, 200 per day, with anything over that billed at $0.25 per mile.
It is. Turo’s price is higher because their insurance is bundled into it. Booking direct here is cheaper, but it means you need your own full coverage policy. Pick whichever path fits your insurance situation.
